#Fogging

Disinfection of whole rooms and environments is becoming more relevant in a multitude of industries. Customers and regulatory agencies are vigilantly tracking the habits of food production, care of livestock, public spaces and healthcare facilities and their ability to limit hospital-acquired and infectious disease.

Whether the disinfection application is used to limit the spread of infection in a hospital setting or to support the production of food or pharmaceuticals by creating a cleanroom setting, absolute and quick application of antimicrobial agents are vital for businesses to properly protect their communities and employees.

Advances in technology are moving forward rapidly as new technologies are uncovered.

If you are considering purchasing a fogging machine, there are a multitude of options on offer and you may be wondering what type of fogging would best suit your disinfection protocols.

There are two primary types of fogging equipment: #thermalfogging and #coldfogging.

Here's the thing, thermal equipment uses heat to vaporize the fogging solution and spread it through the air, while cold equipment uses air pressure to spread the solution through the air in tiny particles. Thermal fogging also provides a more visible mist to that of ULV cold fogging. ULV cold fogging is more effective in targeting difficult to reach areas.

Both thermal and cold foggers have benefits and disadvantages. For example, thermal equipment is primarily used outdoors, cold equipment can be used indoors where proper safety precautions are followed.

The biggest difference may be that thermal equipment is better at spreading the antimicrobial over a wider distance outdoors and that cold ULV foggers are better at disinfection in hard to reach places indoors.

Whole room disinfection eliminates some of the errors that occur and they drastically cut down on manual labour required by staff. Using whole room disinfection systems can be used to assist with disinfection in areas that are regularly a problem without disrupting workflow. Using this type of equipment helps limit the use of chemicals which greatly benefit the environment as well as the employees. ULV cold foggers in addition to using them for disinfecting surfaces can also be used to clean the air as well.

All of these benefits help not only to reduce waste and limit the impact on the environment, they also increase the quality of life for everyone in these industries.

So, it all really depends on the environment that you will be disinfecting and what you will be disinfecting.
